For the last 25 years, our owner-managed engineering agency GeoConsult Busch has been offering engineering services relating to the environment, resources and approval management for private and public clients.

Histoire
How it all began
As a long-term research associate for engineering and hydrogeology at RWTH Aachen (Aachen University), Dipl.-Geol. Gerhard Busch made the transition into the world of engineering consulting services along with Dr. Detlev Neumann at the end of the nineties.
From the beginning, the agency was conceived as a ‘melting pot’ for the most diverse areas of the consulting business and made it its goal to bring together the expert know-how of engineering and the natural sciences to form a purposeful collective and customer-oriented project team.
Développement
During the early years, work on projects concerning contaminated sites and land recycling represented the main focus, with geoinformation simultaneously evolving into a key part of the business. By way of example, one could cite the successful collaboration with regional authorities and the German Armed Forces in cross-realm projects and database modelling.
Building on this treasure trove of data and experience, Dipl.-Geol. Gerhard Busch decided to supplement engineering consulting with authorisation management and push for this to become a further cornerstone of the company.
Since 2009, Dr. Detlev Neumann has been developing and consolidating the geoinformation sector of the business into a separate company.
Also during this time, specialist consulting and authorisation consulting in regard to opencast extraction of mineral raw materials intensified. Planning and assessment of adverse effects on the natural landscape as well as digital modelling of mining and extraction became part of our day-to-day business. It is with pride that we look back on our in-house development of a cost-effective mining simulation which allows us to draft extremely economically effective and substantiated permit applications for our partners who are active in this area.
